This Site is run by me, Mehmet Cinar, a private person in Belgium. For any question about your data, write to hello@mehmetcinar.com.
Visiting the Site
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. I count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and does not track you from one site to another. I see totals only: pages viewed, countries, referring sites, browsers.
One cookie, theme, remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. It is set only when you
use the theme switcher, and it is shared with my apps on *.mehmetcinar.com so they open in the
same theme.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, I keep your email address to send you one email when a new Post is out. The legal basis is your consent: you give it by subscribing and confirming from the email you receive.
- Who handles it. The list is stored and the emails are sent by Buttondown, in the United States, under a data processing agreement with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- What is collected. Your email address, the date you subscribed and confirmed, and whether an email to you bounced. Opens and clicks are not tracked.
- How long. Until you unsubscribe. Addresses that stop working are removed automatically.
- Unsubscribing. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also write to me and I will remove you.
Your rights
You can ask me to see, correct or delete your data, or to stop using it. If you think I handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
